North Devon Summer HolidayA seaside holiday in Woolacombe on the North Devon Coast
* under 2 Price includes half board accommodation and the services of a Mango coordinator. (Entrance fees and transport to attractions are not included).
This is a seaside holiday staying in the fabulous resort of Woolacombe, on the North Devon coast. The beach at Woolacombe is an award-winning sandy beach stretching for three miles and is a delight for children of all ages with wind–surfing and body boarding for the more adventurous. The North Devon coastal resorts are quieter than their counterparts on the South Devon coast and Woolacombe itself is a delightful small resort. Woolacombe is well-situated to explore the many attractions North Devon has to offer. There is horse riding and quad biking not too far away and a Wildlife and Dinosaur Park at Coombe Martin. At nearby Croyde Bay there is swimming at Cascades, a cascading adventure pool with a giant 230ft flume, fun rapids ride, water spout, bubble lounger, jacuzzi, safe pools and waterfalls for the children. Also not too far away at Bideford is the Big Sheep, a working farm turned wacky tourist attraction, combining traditional rural crafts, such as cheese making and shearing, with hilarious novelties such as sheep racing and duck trialling and an amusing and witty programme of events and if it rains there are undercover areas. Watermouth Castle provides a host of fun. As well as the castle itself, there is the Dungeon labyrinth, with something different round each corner, Merrygoland providing rides and games and Gnome land a village full of little people. Our AccommodationWe will be staying half board at the Royal Hotel in Woolacombe. The Royal Hotel overlooks the Devon countryside and the sea and boasts impressive views from the dining room and is just a five minute walk down to the beach. The hotel is graded two star, it is a budget hotel of a basic standard but is child-friendly. All bedrooms are en-suite and have TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast and evening meals are buffet style with lots of choice. Vegetarians are also well-catered for. Leisure facilities include a large heated indoor swimming pool, children’s play area and games room. The hotel has entertainment on most evenings. We can also organise our own entertainment. Mango Holiday FunIf the weather is fine there is the fantastic stretch of beach where as well as building sand castles and taking a dip in the sea, we will organise beach games. Woolacombe is on the South West coastal path and we can take some short walks. We will organise horse-riding and quad-biking and visits to Cascades at Croyde Bay the Big Sheep at Bideford and the Wildlife and Dinosaur Park at Coombe Martin. Some may want to visit other attractions in the area. The exact programme of visits will be organised by the Mango co-ordinator based on the weather conditions, the ages of the children and the interests of those on the holiday. You can do as little or as much as you choose and when it’s fine we will spend lots of time on the beach. There is body boarding and surfing on the beach for those who want to give it a try. And you can always have a go at Crazy Golf. We can swim in the hotel pool and we will meet up each evening before dinner and all go in to eat together in the dining room, which overlooks the sea. In June and September we organise special dates for Tots, that’s pre-school children. These are an ideal time for those of you with younger children to enjoy this great seaside resort. The programme for this holiday is especially aimed at the younger age group. The town and the beach are usually a little quieter in June and September.
Note: the sample itinerary is based on the 6 night holiday. Itinerary details for this holiday may vary according to weather conditions and the ages of the children. The programme will be tailored to the younger ages of the children on the Tots holidays.) Mango Holidays sometimes referred to as MangoKids run holidays for single parents with their children. Small families with just one or two children are often penalised by the big tour operators who charge for two adults. Mango is the only tour operator to offer a discount to these small families for all children up to the age of 16 travelling with just one adult. Going on a Mango Holiday is an opportunity for single parents to meet other single parents and many single parents become friends and stay in touch after their holiday. Mango is not a single parent dating organisation. If you are interested in single parent dating you should check out our links page, which recommends a few organisations helping single parents meet. Being single with kids can be a daunting experience but it can be fun and we have designed a programme of holidays and weekend breaks for solo travellers with children to make sure they have some fun. Our solo holidays for single parents with children consist of adventure and activity breaks, ski holidays and holidays in the sun. Mango single parent holidays take place in the UK and overseas. In the UK we have holidays in Devon, Brecon Beacons and Pembrokeshire and we have a Christmas Party weekend in Warwickshire at the end of November. Mango holidays for single parent families overseas travel to Mallorca, Malta, Cyprus, Jersey, Morocco and Lapland to see Santa. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
